Catherine Pearl Magee, 98 of Carlisle died December 20, 2010 in Church of God Home, Carlisle.
            Born December 27, 1911 in Shippensburg, the daughter of the late Samuel H. and Clara Anna Alleman Gettel and the widow of Robert Clark Magee.
            Mrs. Magee was a well known local artist who for many years owned and operated Magee’s Barn and Antiques.  She was a life member of Waggoners United Methodist Church, Carlisle.  Catherine’s loves in life were tole painting, buying and selling antiques, meeting new customers and spending time with her family.  She always kept up with current events and never lost her desire to learn.  Catherine was an inspiration to family and friends due to her continued hard work well into her 90’s.  Catherine truly loved life.
            Surviving are her son, Richard Magee and his wife Vicki, Newville, two daughters, Beverly DeHart and her husband Buddy, Carlisle and Bonnie Wynn and her husband George, Carlisle, thirteen grandchildren, Beth Myers, Brad DeHart, Steve, Ken, Les and Jeff Brehm, Terry Dows, Jenny Ortmyer, Brian, Mick and Rick Magee, Greg Wynn and Jackie Hagenston, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren and her two son in laws; Ronald Brehm and Richard Cockley.  She was preceded in death by two daughters, Delores J. Brehm and C. Lucille Cockley, a brother, Harry Gettel, a granddaughter, Lorie Cockley and a great-granddaughter, Megan Myers.
            Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday December 27, 2010 in the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 219 North Hanover St. Carlisle, with the Rev. Timothy A. Funk officiating.  Burial will be in the Waggoners United Methodist Church Cemetery.  There will be a viewing from 12:30 pm Monday until the time of the services in the funeral home. 
            Memorial contributions may be made in Catherine’s name to Waggoners United Methodist Church, 1055 Longs Gap Road, Carlisle or a charity of one’s choice.
