Carlajean Wedding

October 5, 1963 — August 3, 2013

Carlajean Wedding, 49, of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, August 3 following a lengthy illness. A native of Chula Vista, California, she was a 1981 graduate of Hilltop High School and a 1992 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
Once described as a "hostess to the world," she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and socializing. She especially enjoyed the many friends she made from all over the globe while volunteering with the Culture and Conversation program for spouses of international students assigned to the U.S. Army War College and from numerous duty stations she lived at over the course of her husband's military service.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, CAPT Thomas E. Wedding, USN RET; her parents Jean and Winfield Scott of Carlisle; her sisters Sheri (John) Williams of San Diego, California and Diane Crawford of Port Orchard, Washington; her nephew John (Brooke) Wilson, niece Jayme (Joe) and grandniece Karlee Jo Herrin of San Diego, California; numerous other nieces and nephews; and her best friend since high school, Kim Morales of Bonita, California.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Carlisle Barracks Saturday, August 10, at 10:30 a.m. A loving, generous, outgoing, and colorful person, one of Carla's final requests was that those celebrating her life by attending her memorial service not wear black. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Carla's name to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Association, 321 Norristown Road, Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.
