Betty E. Husler, age 93, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
She was born on November 19, 1921 in Carlisle to the late George A. and Ruth Marion Brown Paxton and was the widow of the late Envol G. Husler who passed in 1997.
Betty retired from Reeves Hoffman of Carlisle after 30 years of service. She also waitressed at Allenberry Playhouse and Twin Gables Restaurant. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Carlisle, a member of the Purple Heart Organization and was a former member of the Carlisle Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Betty loved to play bingo, put jigsaw puzzles together and telling stories.
She is survived by three sons, Conrad (and wife Patricia) Husler of Dillsburg, Dennis (and wife Connie) Husler of Carlisle and Michael (and wife Judy) Husler of Carlisle; six grandchildren, Scott Anthony, Joshua Dennis, Cassandra, Jessica, Stephanie Ann and Katy Lynn; and five great-grandchildren, Patience, Orion, Madison, Brianna and Elizabeth Grace. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, George Paxton, Jr and a sister, Janet Mae Jakubowski.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Anthony D. Lorenz officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
