William P. Dove

William P. Dove, age 77, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill with his loving wife, Peggy, by his side.
He was born July 4, 1940 in Harrisburg to the late Lloyd and Lela (Caplinger) Dove.
Bill was an owner/operator truck driver. He worked for North American Van Lines and Kenosha Auto Transport hauling boats. After coming off over-the-road driving, he hauled locally for Hershey Chocolate. He later hauled for Cumberland Truck Equipment from where he retired. Bill enjoyed vegetable gardening.
He is survived by: his wife of 27 years, Margaret E. “Peggy” Dove of Carlisle; two daughters, Sheri (husband Tim) Morris of Middletown and Lisa (companion Tim Williams) Stake of WV; a step-daughter, Stephanie (husband Ben) Niziolek) of Wilmington, DE; three sisters, Sadie Whitmoyer, Patsy Savage and Elaine (husband Glenn) Gilbert; a brother, James (wife Gloria) Dove; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He will be especially missed by his little girl, Bella, his cat. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Dove and a sister, Barbara Johns.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
