Teresa K. Hockensmith, age 67, of Newville, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital.
She was born July 21, 1950 in Carlisle to the later Gerald and Ethel “Betty” (Hock) Barbour.
Teresa was a former cook at the Carlisle Gingerbread Man and a nurse’s aide at Claremont Nursing Home. She was an avid ceramic painter and she enjoyed her dogs, Toby and Sady.
She is survived by: her loving husband of 21 years, Dana E. Hockensmith of Newville; two sons, Rodney L. Gsell and companion Jordan Kelley of Newville and Christopher S. (wife Marta) Brady of Enola; a daughter, Kathy J. Miller and husband Kevin Cramer of Newville; six grandchildren, Meeka, Tyler, Austin, Josh and Izzy; and two great-grandchildren, Miya and Brayson. In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Varner.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 until the time of the services.
