Steven Arthur George

Steven Arthur George, age 62, of Newville, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Geisinger Holy Spirit.

He was born October 9, 1955 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Bert and Ellen (King) George-Uhl.

Steven served in the U.S. Marines retiring as a Naval Police Officer.

He was the kind of person that knew no strangers. He would always strike up a conversation with everyone he met. He was a caring individual that would help anyone in need.

He loved to tinker with and repair things, riding his motorcycle visiting the states and scenic places, and had a true love for animals. He was also a member of the Turnpike Ramblers Motorcycle Club.

Steven lost his life doing what he loved the most, riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his loving wife Janey (Light) George of Newville; daughter, Jessica George of Harrisburg; son, Jeremy George of Harrisburg; step-son, Demetrius Light of Newville; step-daughter, Alexandria Weston of Enola; brothers, Larry and Kenny George of WV; sisters, Diane Lucas Ankrom of WV and Tina Black Korns of FL; three step-grandchildren, Jade, Antonio and Ariel; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, September 13, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, and Friday, September 14, 2018 from 10:00 am until the start of the service.
