Ruth E. Gensler

Ruth E. Gensler, age 91, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 2, 1926 in Carlisle to the late R. Arnold and Florence (Alexander) Woodrow and was the widow of Elmer L. Gensler who passed January 25, 2002.
Ruth was a full-time homemaker, mother, wife and caretaker. She was a longtime active member of Wesleyan Church of the Cross, Carlisle.
She is survived by: two sons, Steven (wife Sharon) Gensler and Doug (wife Sandy) Gensler; granddaughters, Rebecca (husband Andrew) Sheaffer and Summer (husband Brandon) Wick; and great-granddaughter, Amelia Wick. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Woodrow and sisters, Betty Wisotzkey and Elsie Bishop.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Charles R. Burgard officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
