Russell L. Rynard

Russell L. Rynard, 85, of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 while surrounded by his loving family in his home.
He was born November 4, 1932 in Carlisle to the late Myrl E. and Florence G. (Thumma) Rynard.
Russ honorably served his country during the Vietnam Era in the US Army. He was a member of: Enola Sportsmen’s Club, VFW Post 477, White Circle Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299, Moose Lodge 761, Elks Lodge #578, American Legion Post 101 and was a Mason at Carlisle Lodge #260. Russ was a lifelong farmer with his brother on their family farm, was employed by C.H. Masland and Sons in the Power House and later the Harrisburg East Mall as Operations Manager.
Russell is survived by: his wife of 33 years, Doris G. (Gensler) Rynard of Carlisle; three sons, Russell L. Rynard II, Randall Rynard and Daniel Rynard all of Carlisle; four daughters, Julie (and husband Gary) Hess of Shermans Dale, Carrie Crain of Carlisle, Karen (and husband William) Keller of Carlisle and Kim Knaub of Carlisle; five grandchildren, William and Heather Keller, Sarah and Katie Crain and Justin Rynard; four brothers, Donald Rynard, Ronald (and wife May) Rynard, Ben (and wife Phyllis) Rynard and Greg Weigle all of Carlisle; and two sisters, Shirley Morrison and Delores Hostetter both of Carlisle. In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by two brothers, Myrl and Norman Rynard and one sister, Joyce Heberlig.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Matthew D. Plant officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
