Minnie A. Pitta

Minnie A. Pitta, age 80, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at the UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle Hospital.
She was born March 18, 1937 in Scranton to the late Saverio and Marian (Fiori) Yanni.
Minnie graduated of the Scranton Technical High School in 1956 and retired after 25 ½ years as an administrator at Dickinson College Dining Services. She enjoyed cooking, baking, arts and crafts and sewing. She especially liked to make clothing and doll clothes. Minnie and her husband enjoyed traveling, with their last trip being in 2016 to Portugal and Spain. She also visited England, Ireland, Italy, Gernamy, Austria, Hungary and France. She especially loved traveling down south to visit her family. She was a longtime, active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle, where she was a member of the Heritage Club and the Funeral Ministry.
She is survived by: her husband of 52 years, Salvatore J. Pitta of Carlisle; three daughters, Suzanne Pitta of Atlanta, Ga, Gina Marie McCullough of Simpsonville, SC and Lori A. (husband Dennis) Dotterer of Lexington, SC; three grandchildren, Zachary T. McCullough, Reece S. Dotterer and Raegan Danielle Dotterer; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by four brothers, Louie, Tommy, Stevie and Frankie and five sisters, Annie, Chris, Francie, Carmel and Dorothy.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA with the Very Rev. William C. Forrey, V.F. as Celebrant. There will be a visitation at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3rd Century Fund, 152 E. Pomfret Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
