Linda M. Hill (Hamilton)

Linda M. Hill (Hamilton), age 79, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Thornwald Home in Carlisle.
She was born December 4, 1939 in Carlisle to the late Nelson M. and Grace Marie (Knaub) Hill.
Linda graduated from William Penn High School, afterwards attending Penn State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Linda served in the U.S. Navy, and later worked as an Operations Research Analyst for an aviation company. She attended St. John’s Episcopal Church, and was the cofounder of the Glass Ceiling Club in Annapolis, MD. Linda was a long-serving member of the Board of Directors of Keystone Human Services, one of the largest charitable organizations in Central Pennsylvania, and was a member of the Board of Keystone Partners, the fund-raising associate of Keystone Human Services. Linda was also a long-term supporter of the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and a life-long supporter of ballet for youth.
She is survived by: her husband Griffin F. Hamilton; four stepsons, Griffin F., II (wife Kathleen) of Temecula, CA, Paul H. (wife Susanna) of Mechanicsville, MD, Christopher C. (wife Judé) of Carlsbad, CA, and David G. (wife Courtney) of Escondido, CA; one sister, Roberta “Bobbie” Hill (husband Robert Gray) of Dillsburg, PA; fourteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Nelson Hill.
Liturgy of Burial of the Dead will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1 N Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA with The Rev. Adam Kradel, Ph.D., officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the church parish hall from 2:00 pm until the time of the service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church Garden Fund, 1 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
