LTC Jason Dale “Goody” Good, age 42, of Carlisle, PA passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at his residence.
He was born September 24, 1975 in Akron, OH to Dale Rayne Good of Kent, OH and the late Jean Ann (Whitmire) Good.
He is survived by: his wife of 17 years, Terra Ann (Toulson) Good of Carlisle; two children, Ella Jean and Axel Terry, both of Carlisle; a sister, Jill (husband Adamo) Cirese of North Canton, OH; a brother, Jeremy (wife Alicia) Good of Medina, OH; two uncles, Jim (wife Rosalinda) Whitmire and William (wife Kathleen) Whitmire; his step-mother, Janie Good of Kent, OH; his father and mother-in-law, Terry and Darlene Toulson of Canton, OH; and his sister-in-law, Tami (husband JP) Neff of Canton, OH; and nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Isabella, Colton, Anthony, Abigail and Ava.
Jason was a 1998 graduate of the United States Military Academy (West Point, NY) and earned a
Master of Business Administration from Naval Post Graduate School (Monterey, CA).
A 20-year Army veteran, Jason was commissioned as an infantry officer and served in the Demilitarized Zone in South Korea; was a platoon leader in the75th Ranger Regiment (Fort Benning, GA); commanded a Company in the 501st Airborne (Fort Richardson, AK); and was a Troop Commander in 40th Cavalry (Fort Richardson, AK). Jason later specialized in acquisition management and served as the Program Integrator and Contract Administrator for the Stryker Combat Vehicle (Anniston, AL) and the Assistant Product Director for Army Watercraft Systems (Warren, MI). Jason was serving as the Commanding Officer of the Defense Contact Management Agency, New Cumberland Region (New Cumberland, PA).
Jason served six combat tours, four tours in Afghanistan and two in Iraq, for a total of 46 months of combat.
Among his many awards and decorations, Jason earned two Bronze Star Medals, two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, four Meritorious Service Medals, the Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
Jason enjoyed life and cherished all God has provided. He loved being active, working out, showing his kids the world, and making the most of every moment. Jason lit up the room and was a friend to everyone with whom he crossed paths. His love of college football and sports in general was contagious and competitive. As Jason would always sign off: Go Army! Beat Navy!
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the US Army War College Memorial Chapel, Carlisle Barracks with Chaplain (LTC) Tyson J. Wood officiating. A Memorial Ceremony will be held following the mass at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
