Karen L. Palm

Karen L. Palm, age 60, passed peacefully on June 16, 2018, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Karen was born June 29, 1957, in Temple, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Arthur W. Murphy, Sr., and Barbara J. (Dahms) Murphy.
She never let her battle with cancer defeat her. She spent every moment ensuring light and laughter for those around her by inspiring others. Her strength lives on in her children and those whom she is survived by.
Karen enjoyed a wonderful career at Penske Logistics. She spent 17 years at Penske Logistics, where she worked alongside wonderful people, creating long-lasting friendships.
She is survived by her daughter, Caitlin B. Palm (fiancé, Amanda M. Crow), and son, Rian J. Palm; sisters, Patricia F. Faller (husband, George, Jr.) of Carlisle, PA, and Kimberly A. Bachtlin (husband, Jeffrey) of Reading, PA; brothers, Kelly A. Murphy, Sr. (wife, Rebecca) of Columbia, PA, and Arthur W. Murphy, Jr., (wife, Carol) of Oley, PA; five nephews and two nieces; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
A graveside service and celebration of Karen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA. Friends may visit with family at the Laureldale Cemetery Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. There will be a good old fashioned IRISH Wake on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at the Tattered Flag, 1 South Union Street, Middletown, PA 17057. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Play for P.I.N.K. and Susan G. Komen Foundation.
