John W. Weary

John W. Weary, age 87, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his home.
He was born November 17, 1930 in Boiling Springs to the late John H. and Romaine (Deitch) Weary.
John was the owner/operator of Sunday’s Mill where he worked for over 60 years. He supported youth in agriculture and was a Life Member of NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and mowing grass. John loved going to his hunting cabin in Potter County. He enjoyed baseball, especially the Baltimore Orioles. He was an active member of Middlesex United Methodist Church for over 60 years. John leaves his family a legacy of love. He was patient, loving, kind and thoughtful towards everyone and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Lois S. (Sunday) Weary of Carlisle; two daughters, Kim S. Weary of North Palm Beach, FL and Sally A. (husband Randy) Mentzer of Boiling Springs; a son, Kirk W. (wife Vicki) Weary of Carlisle; a sister, Alice Baughman of Bloserville; seven loving grandchildren; and ten beloved great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Swarner and two brothers Dick and Fred Weary.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Middlesex United Methodist Church, 118 N. Middlesex Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Jan F. Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will a viewing at the church on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Middlesex United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 115, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
